Hi, I’m Kerry and I work with women and parents who are struggling with the stresses of life and want to feel healthier and happier
Maybe you’re fed up feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, suffering from stress and anxiety and have no time to prioritise yourself.
Or maybe you’re just generally concerned about your health – you are eating processed foods, you have trouble sleeping, suffer from gut problems, weight issues, mood swings – often snapping at the kids!!
You are juggling everything, and feel like life is passing you by.
You now want to focus on you and make some positive changes to your lifestyle, but have no idea where to start.
I can help you on your journey to better health and happiness.
Let me tell you a little about me and my journey…
I qualified as a Health Coach and set up this business after changing my lifestyle in search of better health and happiness! I now support others who want to make positive lifestyle changes for better physical and mental health, and to live a happier and more fulfilling life.
I was born and raised in Scotland, but moved to London at the age of 19. I now live with my partner and young daughter. I’m a full time mum, and run my business when my daughter is in nursery, or asleep.. Life is not perfect, we still have everyday struggles and worries and there are things that we can’t control, but……if l compare my life to 5 years ago, there’s lots more love, laughter and self respect.
So what was my life like before l changed my lifestyle……Society leads us to believe that to be ‘happy’ and ‘successful’, you must have a good job title, earn good money, have lots of material possessions and just keep working. Like a lot of us, that’s what l did. l qualified as an Accountant, and for the next 20 years that was my life! I have always lacked self confidence and was plagued with self doubt, so even though l enjoyed being an Accountant, the environment surrounding it caused me immense stress! When l look back, everything in life was stressful, l constantly worried about what people thought of me, was l saying the right thing? I didn’t like my physical appearance, l thought if l could just lose weight, life would be better.
I began restricting my eating and running lots until l was seriously underweight, and unhealthy. Eventually the stress started to manifest itself in my physical and mental health. I suffered from daily anxiety and panic attacks, regular eye infections, gut issues, bloating, IBS, gluten intolerance, bell’s palsy……I received CBT treatment over the years, which helped me manage my panic attacks, but did not resolve the core problem. I just kept going, year after year, believing it would sort itself out!
Then, in 2018, life for me changed forever. A family tragedy and the grief that comes from losing a loved one, really woke me up! For a while, l was low, suffering from PTSD and struggling to cope with everyday life. l didn’t want to feel like this anymore, so forced myself to change, and so my journey began. I stepped back and looked at my life as a whole, and decided to follow a completely different path.
With the support of my partner, I took a risk and gave up my job.
Then overtime started making small positive lifestyle changes; my diet, the way l exercised, sleep, relationships, introduced relaxation techniques and much more.
I also found a really good counsellor who helped me see myself differently, and encouraged me to look forward.
During this period, l also gave birth to my daughter. It was a combination of both wonderful and tough at the same time. It was quite a traumatic birth and with my anxiety/PTSD it wasn’t easy. It was my mission though to be fully present for my daughter, so l continued researching and making small lifestyle changes.
Over time l could see improvements with both my physical and mental health, and found the real me!
I’m still very much on my journey, but l have started to see life for what it is. We only get one chance at life, and l want to feel good both physically and mentally to enjoy it!
We are a stressed nation, the statistics for both mental health and chronic disease are only going one way! We know chronic stress is linked to many conditions, both physical and mental! Lets challenge the idea that stress is an acceptable cost of success in our ever more driven society. Let’s take back control of our lives!
